The Christmas Stocking – Part 17

by Jaded on July 23, 2010

As promised, the funnel and bell today. It is only 2 pieces, but they are both pretty involved.

I lost track of what number piece I am up to, and I threw away the instructions, because in real time, I am DONE!

Anyway, I cut out the base piece for the funnel and sequined it.It looks like piece 79 is up next, so I cut that out and appliqued it into place.Next up, I beaded and appliqued piece 80 into place, then appliqued 81 into place. Then, I cut out 82 sequined it and appliqued it into place. It is amazing how many details this one part of the train has. And we still aren’t done!. Piece 83 is next. More of the same, sequin and applique. Two more pieces to complete the front. Cut out, sequined and appliqued piece 84, and then 85.Next I cut out the back piece, stuffed it with poster-board and stuffing, then attached it to the stocking.Yay! the funnel is done! Now to work on the bell. I cut out the front of the bell and embroidered it.Then attached the red clapper to the bell. Then I cut out the back piece of the bell stuffed and appliqued it together. After that I cut out the front of the black piece embroidered and beaded it. Then cut out the back piece.

I needed another pipe cleaner. This time I trimmed some of the fuzzy stuff of the pipe cleaner,  but it was still struggle to the applique the pieces together.

Yes, I know I failed at getting pictures of this stage. But if I had a third hand I would have been all over it!

Once the black piece was all put together, I appliqued it to the bell, then appliqued the whole bell to the stocking.I am getting there! only the smoke and wreath are left! Look for the update on Monday!
